Brief Description

Trade card of Milon, merchant goldsmith (marchand orfèvre) and jeweller (joaillier, bijoutier), At the Holy Spirit. The image is etched. The engraved text of this card is contained in an oval defined by a plain band and shading. Below this is a pair of twigs or branches in leaf bound across one another. Above the oval the dove of the Holy Spirit descends in a glory, bearing the sacrament towards a vigorous bow which bears the name of the shop sign and serves as the point of suspension for two thick garlands of flowers that fall on either side of the oval. The whole composition is surrounded by a thin, even double rule.
